Twelfth failed project aside, I worked up the courage last week to join an local blogging group. Tomorrow, I’ll be at joining them at a networking event. I am not a social person – that’s more Daniel’s style – so my nervous are all tingly.
The last networking event I went to (for anything) served adorable and yummy petit fours – those tiny little square cakes. Daniel had walked off to talk to an old friend, so it was a good time for me to finish my plate of refreshments. I put an entire petit four in my mouth. Naturally, as soon as I did, someone approached me.
“Oh, hi, I’m so-in-so…”
Uh. I hadn’t even started to chew. Uh, uh, uh, *oh, crap, major freakout.*
I felt horrible, and really, really rude about it. Come to think about it, I’m not even sure what the correct etiquette is in that situation. It happens to me in restaurants all the time. I don’t think a finger is, well, appropriate.
So here it is – I’ll be downtown tomorrow at the Rocket City Bloggers event. I’m not sure if they have petit fours, but they do have some pretty fabulous door prizes.
